Hemifrån is an independent A&R, promotion and marketing company, based in the heart of Sweden, specializing in, what they call, “gut music” – The kind of music that you can feel in your gut, no matter what. Hemifran is promoting a lot of singer-songwriter, westcoast-pop, country, AOR and more. Here are featured some of their latest news – it is not all west coast, but dig into it!

Ralph Molina – Love & Inspiration

Crazy Horse drummer and vocalist Ralph Molina is set to release his 1st solo album, entitled “Love And Inspiration”. Named as one of the ‘100 Greatest Drummers of All Time’ by Rolling Stone magazine, he is best known for his decades long work with Neil Young & Crazy Horse. However, Molina is a superb vocalist and songwriter in his own right, as evidenced by the album’s 11 self penned tracks. Henrik Cederblom

Henrik Cederblom has played guitar behind artists such as Freddie Wadling, Daniel Lemma, Sofia Karlsson and Timo Räisänen, among others, and is also known for his work with the Swedish Grammis-award winning band Den Fule. More information at Hemifran

Auburn – Game Of Faith

Auburn has been captivating audiences around the world with their unique blend of americana, blues and roots music. Fronted by female vocalist Liz Lenten, who’s voice has been described as “so sweet it’ll make your hair curl” and “husky, with an emotional frailty”, who “isn’t afraid to show her full range of vocal tones or emotions”. The Maes – S.T.

The Maes are currently working on their 3rd album, which is set for release in May. What started as a plan to make a 4 track EP mid tour last year at Lake Echo studio in Nova Scotia, Canada, with producer Daniel Ledwell, turned into recording a brand new album in studios across Canada, Ireland, Scotland and back home in Melbourne, working with Ledwell in Canada, Gordon Maclean on the Isle of Mull, Scotland, Liam King on Inish Bofin, John Fitzgerald in West Cork, Ireland and finally finishing up back home in Melbourne with Brendon Love of The Teskey Brothers. Mara Levine – Facet Of Folk

Called one of the best singers of her generation by Christine Lavin, folksinger and jewelry designer Mara Levine, like a skilled gem cutter, selects songs with inherent beauty, examines them carefully, then crafts and polishes them to a glittering brilliance. According to folksinger and activist Si Kahn, ‘Layering harmony line on top of harmony line, Levine creates rich tapestries of sound and emotion’. More information at Hemifran.

Pat Kearns – Down In The Wash

I thought I would spend the rest of my life in Portland, Oregon. I was the 3rd generation of my small family to live and work in the Pacific Northwest log and steel town. I had carved out a life recording and mixing music in a dank studio behind my longtime punk rock pals’ guitar and amp shop, Centaur Guitar. Sam Levin – A General Air Of Regret

An amazingly accomplished live performer, songwriter and recording artist who released his 1st single at age 10, Sam Levin, now 17, is trying something new on his 3rd album, “A General Air Of Regret”. Rather than writing songs about himself and the details of his life and relationships, or a free flow of thoughts and abstract images, Sam is looking for an elusive middle ground of ambiguity, where songs aren’t about feelings, they are feelings. Arroyo Rogers – Single Wide

Arroyo Rogers is a California country band steeped in the classic country and western sound of the 60’s and 70’s. Founded by Kip Powell and Lisa Mednick Powell, the band continues to perform classic covers and original americana in and around the high desert community of Joshua Tree. Anna Einarsson Ensemble – Life In Pieces

The Portuguese have saudade, the Swedes have vemod. Contemplation, intricately entwined in compositions spanning jazz, folk music, experimental and the nordic, is at the heart of the new album by Anna Einarsson Ensemble, “Life In Pieces”. More information at Hemifran.

White Owl Red – Existential Frontiers

There are certain albums that cry out to be the soundtrack to a long road trip”, Americana UK decrees, “and White Owl Red’s ‘Existential Frontiers’ is one of those, whether you’re driving from Nashville to Memphis or Norwich to Middlesborough”.  It contains “Dylanesque vocals, with resonances on various tracks of Steve Earle, David Byrne, Howe Gelb and Willie Nile among others”. Mark Rogers – Laying It Down

Mark Rogers is a well traveled songwriter whose music reminds us of the years we spent scouring lyric sheets and liner notes. When vocal harmony would induce a palpable reaction and words would take us to places we couldn’t always describe. Introspective, thoughtful, melodic and soulful. A nod to the past, but with both hands on the wheel, Mark’s music endures. With his new album, “Laying It Down”, Mark Rogers continues the American rich tradition of literary songwriting. Jordi Baizan – Free And Fine

Jordi Baizan is a 1st generation American and native Texan songwriter. He is multicultural, born in Houston to Spanish and Cuban parents, and married to Carmen who hails from Mexico. Jordi is also a multi tasker, writing songs and managing his flourishing music career in the same home office where he runs his small business, which helped them raise their 2 girls and 2 boys. Now that the kids are away at college and beyond, the empty nest at home has provided Jordi the opportunity to take his music on the road. More information at Hemifran
