GLIMTVIS confesses sins and longings from the roads on new full-length album – written with award-winning American songwriters in Nashville.
GLIMTVIS’ new album, The Nashville Confessions, was written in Nashville and will be released on September 13, 2024
Now, GLIMTVIS have release their first full-length album, The Nashville Confessions. An album containing 11 strong songs, which were created in Nashville during 10 days in February in 2024. Together with 12 renowned songwriters, GLIMTVIS has put into words the longing, the uncertainty, the lack of a point of view, rootlessness, but also heartfelt happiness, that life on the road brings with it.
The collaboration with the American songwriters started in a small sentence: “… if you guys ever come to Nashville, we should write!” A phrase like GLIMTVIS was met with by the same songwriters during the Nashville Nights festival in Odense. And after a short consideration, GLIMTVIS took the songwriters at their word, threw adult sense overboard, ordered 2 plane tickets and called them with the message: “Guess what, we’re coming to Nashville!”. And not long after, GLIMTVIS found himself in The Music City, writing the album, The Nashville Confessions.
The album has been given its theme after the clowning life you live as a musician and songwriter. The choices and opt-outs that come with it. The uncertainty. Missing. But also the feeling of happiness in living from what you are passionate about – and cannot live without.
The focus track and the opening number ‘Is Anybody Missing Me’ was written in collaboration with singer and songwriter Cheley Tackett, and confesses the thought and nagging doubt you can get on the dark country road in the wee hours: Is there anyone missing me at home…?
On The Nashville Confessions, the sound of GLIMTVIS has become dustier and rootsy than before, and the imagery has borrowed a bit from Americana and country – but the good melody and clear hooklines are still in focus – and as usual with two strong vocals in the front and in close dance with each other.
With the idea that this album should be transatlantic and tie Nashville and Denmark together, GLIMTVIS has used both Danish and American producers and the album was recorded in both Odense, Aalborg, Esbjerg, Aarhus, Norway AND Nashville.
The two very talented and recognized top producers Eric Torres (No.1 Nashville producer, nominated for a Grammy for Jamie Johnson’s Black and White album, 2 times number 1 on the American Country Billboard 100, producer Ashley McBride and others) and Ryan Rossebo (Jericho Rose, Leanne Pearson, Justin Bryan, Hudson Valley and others) are responsible for 4 of the album’s tracks – recorded in Nashville with highly respected and award-winning American studio musicians.
In addition, GLIMTVIS has allied itself with a team of fantastic Danish musicians and two well-known Danish producers, Lucas Illanes (Mike Andersen, Dissing, Las & Cross, WHO Killed Bambi and others) and Jakob Eilsø (The White Album, Kajsa Vala and others). etc.).
All recorded and produced over 2 months in the summer of 2024.
The songs on the album were written by GLIMTVIS together with award-winning and acclaimed songwriters: Blue Foley, D. Vincent Williams, Noah Smith, Matthew Douglas Simpson, Lee Tucker, Dan Smalley, Robert Miller, Matthew Rogers, Kensie Coppin, Cheley Tackett, Kinsey Rose and Michael Lusk.
