George Grunwald, world traveller in west coast music…
Born in Poland, raised in Sweden and has travelled all over the world with his music. The singer and guitarist George Grunwald has a big career in East Europe with many album releases featuring Eric Marienthal and many swedish studio musicians. His earlier albums are more in the jazz fusion vein. He has always been inspired by the music style from Los Angeles and several years ago he decided to start on his west coast project.
From the beginning he teamed up with producer Oli Poulsen to set up the right sound for the production. Oli Poulsen has been working with many big acts and he produced the danish group Michael Learns To Rock that got a big career in the Far East. George Grunwald knewed that this album project were going to take a long time. Just to coordinate things between musicians, recordings, travellling and to get the project signed to a label, could take years.
With this in mind, George started a music project, that with no doubt, already from the beginning were going to be huge project, but also with many west coast music fans waiting to hear the result.
With help from friends and also personal contacts and hard work George Grunwald gathered the team for the recording sessions. The final result is an album with 10 songs recorded in studios all over the world. The musicians lineup are impressive. George Grunwald did get Joseph Williams (Toto, Vertigo), Bill Champlin (Chicago, Sons Of Champlin), Jason Scheff (Chicago), Tamara Champlin, Warren Wiebe, Lou Pardini (Koinonia) & Alex Ligertwood (Santana, Metro) to help out with the vocals. He is also singing a duet with Alex Ligertwood on the album. Oli Poulsen teamed up with some great danish studio musicians and had David Garfield, Allen Hinds, Mark Leadford & David Blamires to contribute to the album.
The title of the album is “So Much To Say” and that is what George Grunwald are doing thru the music. The album is finally released in Far East at the label Icicle Music. There will also be a European & US release very soon.
