From Basix to solo artists …
Morten Kjær is born and raised in a little town outside Aarhus, Denmark. From 1996 – 2002 he did study on the Rhythmic Music Conservatorium, where he took the special 5 years education with focus on the singing. On the list of his teachers are wellknowned singers such as: Katrine Madsen, Helle Hansen, Majbritte Ulrikkeholm, Butch Lazy and swedish Marie Bergman.
From 1997 – 2003 he was member of the acappella group “Basix”. Together with Niels Nørgaard he wrote the song “In Australia”, that got the group the second place in the Danish music grand prix 2001 and also “more or less” kickstarted their career. After the TV show lots of concerts and two album releases, where one recieved Platinum, Morten Kjaer decided to continue his solo career instead of being a member of the “Basix” group.
After several music gigs, recordings as backing vocalist of different albums and also doing TV shows, the solo album has finally reach the release. “Fra En Ny Altan” is the title of the album, and is in the traditional singer songwriter style with many influences from the american sound.
