Henrik Nordén – vol.1

Henrik Nordén Vol 1 PCD179 Prophone Records/Naxos Sweden:

Vol. 1 was mainly due to my equally great fascination for funk, jazz and music arranging. Intricate grooves, a big horn section, vocal harmonizing and improvisation are important ingredients on this album.

In my music, I want all instrument groups (vocals / rhythm section / horns /background vocals) to get equally space (except for the solos, where I selfishly play all of them myself).On a personal side, I’

m especially pleased that so many talented musicians wanted to participate on the recording. Some of them I work with almost daily, while with others I haven’t performed in 25 years.

Influences of bands like Tower of Power and Steely Dan are (too?) obvious.
